The Elk River Guest Ranch is owned and operated by Becky and Scott Damman, since October 2014.
We want to make your vacation dreams come true, and our story is exactly that. Bex hails from Tennessee, but ever since she vacationed on a dude ranch when she was eight years old, her heart has been in Colorado. So as soon as she could after her freshman year of college, she headed west for her first summer wrangling at the very same guest ranch in central Colorado where they'd vacationed twice as a family. That summer she became friends with a wonderful cowboy singer, Will Dudley, who suggested she work at another one of the ranches where he loves entertaining. She was in southern Colorado for six splendid summers while she finished college and coached for two years in Illinois and Tennessee. After getting a good taste of operating a guest ranch in Park County, Colorado, she decided it was time to start making her own ranch family and friends at Elk River Guest Ranch.
With her own blend of southern warmth and western hospitality, she hopes to make you feel like you're coming home when you drive through the archway at Elk River. "I know what it's like to be a kid on a dude ranch, and I also know there's no better vacation on earth. It rocked my world and changed my life, and I truly hope it does for y'all, too."
The Next Chapter...
On August 22, 2015, Bex and Scott got hitched down by the Elk River. Family and friends from Tennessee, Michigan (Scott's family is from the Detroit area) and even a few from Steamboat joined us for the marriage and reception which featured the Yampa Valley Boys for the entertainment.
You'll see Scott doing a bit of everything from tossing around his new products (Assess2Perform) on the lawn to moving hay bales. He loves calling Elk River Guest Ranch home and enjoying a simpler lifestyle with all the ERGR critters, guests and staff family!
