Welcome to the Elk River Guest Ranch, located in one of the most beautiful mountain valleys in the world.
Surrounded by the Routt and Medicine Bow National Forests and with the Mount Zirkel Wilderness as a backdrop, you can escape from your everyday lives to a peaceful, serene, mountainous setting.

At 7,500 feet and the Elk River by its side, the ranch offers cabin rentals, special events, retreats, reunions, and weddings, with a connection to many activities to those wishing to take a break and breathe in the mountain air. 

Established in 1902, The Elk River Guest Ranch has been everything from a mining camp to a local watering hole, to a fully inclusive dude ranch. We are now offering our cabins for rent with a two to four night minimum, (dependent on season) for your getaway in the mountains. Even consider renting the whole ranch to host your event.  Our mix of offered activities and special events, combined with our knowledge of the area and connections, will create the experience you want to remember.  So, take a look around and come visit for some great fun, your way!
