1) You're taken seriously and get a horse that matches your experience level.
Before you ever go out riding with us, we have a step-by-step guide on how to rate yourself. And, whether we gather that information over the phone or via email, we try to get the best sense of your personality, what you'd like out of a horse (temperament, not color), and how you'd rate yourself as a horse person. We're not perfect every time, but doing our homework helps ensure that your steed is going to match you pretty well.
2) We don't just throw you up there and tell you to hang on for dear life.
Before your ride, Bex or one of her trusted wranglers, will give you a short horse orientation. It's not meant to bore you but instead to give you tips on how to make your ride more safe and enjoyable. Not every place you ride will be the same. Some folks teach plow reining and some teach neck reining...wouldn't it be nice to know how to steer your horse?
3) You're vacationing to the Rocky Mountains for a reason. Well, we give you the Rocky Mountains.
Steamboat Springs is known for having a "softer" feel. The mountains appear more hilly at the tops than jagged. The town and surrounding area is as adorable as can be. And, a lot of the area horseback riding is softer. But, this ride gives you a mix of everything. Both jagged and soft peaks, both aspen and pine forests, climbing and flowy.
4) What sets us apart from all the other places you can ride around Steamboat and surrounding areas? We have the most diverse terrain, best views (the Overlook gives you views of the Zirkel Mountain Range of the Continental Divide and views toward the softer mountains around Clark, Colorado), and even incredible staff to guide you.
Of course, whether or not the trail ride is the best of your life is up to you. It's all about your willingness to enjoy your horse, your surroundings, and the people you're with that day. We'll just give you the opportunity to make it happen.
