The Steamboat Springs Chamber of Commerce recently announced their 2016 summer schedule. We're 25-30 minutes outside of Steamboat, and it's worth your while to consider planning your dude ranch vacation around an event if there's something that holds your interest. While we keep guests plenty busy with all we offer at the Elk River Guest Ranch, we do have folks occasionally drive into the western town mid-week to enjoy the shops, hot springs, etc. if they're a bit sore from horseback riding or need a shot of a faster paced life before coming back out to the ranch's serenity. Also, for the duration of the rodeo dates, we take guests into town on Friday evenings, so we take care of that event for you. Take a look at some of the others, and see if there's something that really floats your boat. ![]() May 27 - 30 Downtown Steamboat Sidewalk Sale June 3 - 5 Yampa River Festival & SUP Cup 5 35th Steamboat Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K 15 - 19 Bike Week 16 - 19 28th Annual Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup 24 Free Concert: Booker T. The Steamboat Springs area is a huge draw for those folks with its western atmosphere and outdoorsy mindset. But before you come up to our area there are a few things you need to consider when looking for a place to stay. 1) Professional Rodeo Series featuring roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling, bronc riding, bull riding and kids' events. Every Friday and Saturday night between June 19th and August 22nd. For more information, check out the Steamboat Chamber's description of Steamboat's rodeo events, ticket information and history.
