The 2015 summer dude ranch season has come to a close, and we've been busy cleaning cabins, organizing all the leftover food from the summer, defrosting freezers, putting away staff tents and chopping wood.
Jamie Williams (wrangler 2015) was the first to leave this season since he had to head back to UCONN to begin his Junior year of school. Then, Nic Chapin (ranch hand and wrangler 2015) left for Galesburg, Illinois, to finish up his classes at Knox College. Jean Osborne (wrangler 2015), from North Carolina, began work at ERGR late August and stayed with us through the September season. She'll head to Tanque Verde Ranch in Arizona to be a wrangler for the winter season. And last but not least, Ben Yoder-Henley (wrangler 2015), stayed with us the entire season through the fall (except for a short stint at a horsemanship clinic outside of Denver). He'll head just a few minutes down the road to Vista Verde Ranch to work as a nordic ski guide this winter.
Susan Roth, our amazing chef this summer, will be with us for a few more days and then head back to her home in North Miami, Florida.
What an amazing season it has been, and I don't know what we would have done without these five. I've put together a gallery below of this crew. And while it's mostly for my sake to reminisce our first season at Elk River Guest Ranch, I hope you enjoy them, too! ;) Feel free to comment or email me pictures of them (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you had a great experience with this awesome staff! :)
